The All Ceylon Health Service Union is to hold a series of protests tomorrow (23) in several main hospitals of the country, centered on 11 demands including an end to the ‘privatization’ of health service.
General Secretary of the union Gamini Kumarasiri alleged that the relevant authorities, despite several discussions held, have failed to meet any of the demands made so far.
Therefore protests have been organized at several hospitals including the Colombo National Hospital, Kalubovila, Nagoda, Karapitiya, Matara, Badulla, Kurunegala and Kegalle hospitals from 12 noon tomorrow, he said.
Mr. Kumarasiri also warned that they would resort to strike action in the future if authorities do not direct their attention towards these issues.
